James Barnett
James Barnett is a Managing Partner of American Residential Investment Management. James was born and raised in Libby, Montana and attended the University of Montana in Missoula. Before working full time in real estate investment, James served in a number of natural resources management positions. He was a forester, planner, and fire manager for the US Forest Service that took him throughout the United States and Africa in various management and leadership positions. He has also owned and managed farm and ranch properties in Montana and Wyoming.
James regularly invested in real estate, even while working in other fields. He looked for value add opportunities in agricultural, recreational, and residential properties. He began working with ARIM full time while living in Bozeman, Montana in 2014. James helped acquire and manage ARIM’s first Montana property, an apartment community in Bozeman, Montana. He now leads our projects in Montana from his home in Kalispell.
He believes the keys to success in development and management of properties is the team you build and the relationships that are developed. James relies on his experience in planning and working with partners to create successful investment opportunities.
